The project aims to facilitate the creation of community-based initiative groups in the municipalities of Ozurgeti, Lanchkhuti, and Chokhatauri, which will identify specific problems with help of a pre-written mechanism and advocate for their solution by requesting funding from the local government for the 2023 municipal budgets. The project will also improve identification of the problematic issues and advocacy skills among citizens.
The project envisages the formation of initiative groups that will be working on public foundations in three municipalities of the Guria region, conducting its work with the help of qualified experts, conducting group surveys, identifying problems, arranging photo exhibitions, public presentations, placing information banners, and monitoring the fulfillment of the promises made in the 2021 local elections in Ozurgeti Municipality through public opinion polls and public discussions.
